Negative Carbon Balance

Negative Carbon Balance

Negative Carbon Balance

Recently, at PRIMAL Soles, we applied to a major news outlet to be considered for a series of impactful entrepreneurial projects. One of the measures was the CO2 emissions taken under consideration. Besides the fact that our soles are extremely lightweight and therefore require minimal negative transportation emissions, our soles are also made from natural Mediterranean cork exclusively provided by Amorim Cork Composites in Portugal.

"The Negative Carbon Balance seal certifies that, when taking into account the carbon sequestration of the cork oak forest, Amorim Cork Composites’ products sequester more CO₂ than is emitted during the production process.

These results are based on Life Cycle Assessments conducted by independent entities, outside Amorim Cork Composites’ business universe."

We are proud that together with our cork supply partners, Amorim Cork Composites, we are working towards a more sustainable future.

"Life cycle assessment studies were conducted for various of Amorim Cork Composites’ products and concluded that they all have a negative carbon balance, when considering the carbon sequestration of the cork oak forest and the emissions associated with the industrial process."

Maximum Comfort. Minimal Footprint.
