Droppie x Primal Partnership

Introducing our first fully circular cork collaboration with Droppie

At Primal we are on a mission to create footwear with maximum comfort and a minimal footprint. Today we are proud to announce our first fully circular cork collaboration, connecting Primal and Droppie. Together we are proving that circular footwear is not just a concept but a working system.

Why cork is at the heart of Primal

Cork is one of the world’s most regenerative materials. It is renewable, endlessly recyclable and naturally CO₂-negative. Our Primal insoles and slippers use regenerative cork and recycled materials, all designed to be 100 percent recyclable.

But true circularity only works when materials find their way back after use. That is where Droppie plays a crucial role.

How the circular loop works

The loop is simple.

• Consumers drop off used Primal insoles, natural wine corks or any cork objects for that matter at one of Droppie’s 11 collection points
• Droppie collects and consolidates all cork locally
• Primal sends the collected cork to Amorim Cork Solutions in Portugal
• Amorim recycles and monetizes the material, preparing it for reuse
• The recycled cork flows back into new Primal Soles and slippers

A straightforward cycle that turns everyday waste into new circular products.

Turning daily habits into circular impact

Finishing a bottle of wine or replacing worn-out insoles becomes a small but meaningful act. By returning cork through Droppie, consumers help reduce waste, lower emissions and support a fully circular footwear system.

Why this collaboration matters

This partnership connects circular design, local recycling and industrial-scale cork recovery. It creates a blueprint for circular footwear that begins in the Netherlands and closes the loop in Portugal, before returning as new Primal products.

A simple act with a powerful effect

Every cork dropped into a Droppie bin becomes a resource for the next generation of Primal Soles. This is circularity in motion, and it is only the beginning.
